The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of the Seychelles People’s Defence Forces (SPDF), Brigadier Michael Rosette, along with his delegation, visited the Rwanda Defence Force Headquarters today, where they were received by Gen MK Mubarakh, the Chief of Defence Staff. 

He also extended a courtesy visit to the Minister of Defence, Hon. J Marizamunda. 

They held discussions on enhancing the existing bilateral defence cooperation between the Seychelles People’s Defence Forces and the Rwanda Defence Force. He was also briefed on the Rwanda Defence Forces' transformation journey.

While speaking to the media, Brigadier Michael Rosette emphasised that the purpose of his visit was to strengthen the existing defence cooperation between Rwanda and Seychelles and to discuss the best ways to implement the memorandum of understanding on defence cooperation signed last year, as well as to collaborate in improving operational capabilities through training.

The Rwanda Defence Force and Seychelles People’s Defence Forces already engage in cooperative efforts in areas such as Maritime security, counter-terrorism, exchange of information, exchange of military training, among others.

The visit marks another milestone in the military relations between Rwanda and Seychelles, reaffirming the commitment of both nations to continue fostering cooperation and collaboration in the defence and security domains.

During his visit, the Chief of Defence Forces will also visit the Rwanda Military Academy-Gako, Bugesera District.
