RWANDAN PEACEKEEPERS IN CAR MARK INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN DAY BY OFFERING MEDICAL CARE TO COMMUNITY

Rwanda Level 2+ Hospital and Rwanda Battle Group VII (RWABG VII) under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), today marked International Humanitarian Day by offering free healthcare services and hygiene education to 41 residents of Haute-Kotto Prefecture, Bria, during an outreach event at Maison d’arrêt et de correction de Bria. They also conducted community work where they cleaned the correction facility surroundings at Bria.
The medical team treated malaria, dermatological cases, upper respiratory infections, intestinal worms, and distributed hygiene materials.
Lt Col Dr Emmanuel Mutabazi, Deputy Commander of RWAMED X, urged residents to maintain hygiene, protect water sources, and use mosquito nets.
Mr. Guy Syvain Gueregbinandengba, head of the correctional facility, thanked the Rwandan peacekeepers and requested continued outreach.
This initiative highlights MINUSCA and Rwanda’s commitment to community health, peace, and stability through Civil-Military cooperation.
