RDF ARMY CHIEF OF STAFF VISITS MINUSCA FORCE COMMANDER AFTER MEETING WITH RWANDAN PEACEKEEPERS IN BOSSEMBELE
Bangui, 6 March 2025
Today, the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Army Chief of Staff (ACOS), Maj Gen Vincent Nyakarundi, along with the Defence Spokesperson Brig Gen Ronald Rwivanga, the Director of Training in RDF Lt Col Laurent Kabutura, and the contingent commanders of Rwandan contingents operating in the Central African Republic, visited the MINUSCA Force Commander, Lieutenant General Humphrey Nyone, at the Force Headquarters. This visit followed his meeting with Rwandan peacekeepers (RWANBATT 2) in Bossembele.
The Force Commander appreciated the outstanding contribution of Rwandan peacekeepers in implementing the mandate.
During his visit to the RWANBATT 2 headquarters, the Army Chief of Staff conveyed a message from HE Paul Kagame, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the RDF, thanking them for their work in contributing to peace and stability in the host country.
RWANBATT 2 carries out various tasks, such as securing the main supply route connecting Bangui and Cameroon, conducting day and night patrols, and running community outreach programmes ranging from community work (Umuganda), providing free medical services, among other activities that contribute to the well-being of the people.
