RDF ARMY CHIEF OF STAFF JOINS THE 503 BRIGADE IN A ROUTE MARCH IN MUSANZE DISTRICT

This morning, the Army Chief of Staff (ACOS), Maj Gen Vincent NYAKARUNDI, joined the RDF 503 Brigade personnel under 2nd Division in a route march tour, which covered 26 km in Kinigi, Musanze District.
The exercise was conducted in line with the directives and guidance of the Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency President Paul KAGAME, who consistently urges the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) personnel to engage in regular physical training.
The 26 km route march, begun at Kinigi Brigade military barracks, passed through Kinigi Model Village and Musanze Sector Office, continued to INES-Ruhengeri, and returned along the same route.
While addressing the 503 Brigade, the ACOS said that an unfit soldier cannot effectively defend the nation, adding that physical weakness leads to vulnerability, not only in combat readiness but also has a negative effect on overall health.
He further stressed that being an RDF soldier requires doing what you are ordered to do and remain physically fit at all times and avoid the risk of being a burden to the overall team during a mission.
