MOD Volleyball Team wins inter-institutions tournament

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) Volley Ball Team (Female) has become champion in inter-government and private institutions Sports Competition.
The tournament that closed officially on 19 December 2021 was organised by Rwandan Association for the Promotion of Sports among the Workforce (ARPST).
During final matches played at Amahoro Stadium- Petit Stade (Remera), the MOD Volleyball Team (Female) won the trophy after beating Rwanda Revenue Authority three sets to nil, while the MOD Basketball Team (Male) was ranked the second after losing to RWANDAIR (48-54).
In football, National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) was champion after beating RWANDAIR (1-0) among public institutions.
Among private institutions, Bank of Kigali (BK), Banque Populaire du Rwanda (BPR) and VOLCANO were the champions, respectively in Basketball, Volleyball and Football.
In general, 33 teams from public and private institutions participated in the tournament.
While delivering the trophies, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Sports, Shema Maboko Didier encouraged the initiative saying that the tournament was fundamental in promoting sports spirit and talents as well as socialising among different institutions.
