THE PRESIDENT OF MOZAMBIQUE VISITS RWANDA SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS IN MOCĂŤMBOA DA PRAIA

The President of the Republic of Mozambique and Commander-in-Chief of the Mozambique Armed Defence Forces (FADM), His Excellency Daniel Francisco Chapo, today visited the Rwanda Security Force (RSF) Headquarters in MocĂ­mboa da Praia District during his official tour of Cabo Delgado Province.

The President was accompanied by the Minister of National Defence, Major General Cristóvão Artur Chume, the FADM Army Commander, Major General André Rafael Mahunguane, the Chief of Staff of the Mozambican Navy, Brigadier General (Commodore) Óscar Agostinho Lucas, and other senior government officials.

Following his visit to FADM troops in MocĂ­mboa da Praia, President Chapo was warmly received at MocĂ­mboa da Praia Airport by the Rwanda Security Force Joint Task Force Commander, Brigadier General CM Mujuni, together with other commanders and staff officers. He subsequently met and addressed senior RSF officers, commending their contribution to the restoration of peace and security in Cabo Delgado.

In his remarks, President Chapo expressed his sincere gratitude to the Government of Rwanda, particularly to the President of the Republic of Rwanda, for the unwavering support provided to Mozambique in combating terrorism in Cabo Delgado. He commended the Rwanda Security Force for its dedication, professionalism and commitment to protecting civilians and restoring security.

Highlighting the importance of the partnership between RSF and FADM, President Chapo appreciated strong cooperation between the two forces in the fight against terrorism and pledged continued collaboration.
