ORGANISATION
The Reserve Force is composed of
Operational Reserve;

Operational Reserve
The Operational Reserve is a category of young reservists capable of augmenting the active Rwanda Defence Force when reactivated.
Reinforcement Reserve
The Reinforcement Reserve is a category of reservists consisting of former Rwanda Defence Force members whose contracts ended and retirees with reserve liability, who may augment the active Rwanda Defence Force.
Strategic Reserve
The Strategic Reserve is a category of reservists with diverse expertise and specialisations required to augment the capabilities of the Rwanda Defence Force.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE RESERVE FORCE
The Reserve Force has the following responsibilities:
to provide, when reactivated, reserve units and individuals to support and augment the active Rwanda Defence Force;
To regularly prepare the reserve force in terms of current and future military operational requirements.
