THE RDF CHIEF OF CIVIL MILITARY COOPERATION JOINS RESIDENTS OF MUHIMA IN THE 32 COMMEMORATION OF THE 1994 GENOCIDE AGAINST THE TUTSI
Today, the Chief of Civil-Military Cooperation in the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), Colonel Désiré Migambi Mungamba, joined residents of Muhima Sector in Nyarugenge District for the 32nd commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The event took place at St. Famille Parish and brought together local leaders, security personnel, survivors, and members of the wider community.
In his remarks, Colonel Désiré Migambi emphasized remembrance as a collective responsibility and highlighted Rwandan core values, including unity, peace, prosperity, and sovereignty, which existed long before the colonial era.
He further stressed the role of unity and vigilance in safeguarding the country’s progress and preventing any recurrence of such atrocities, reaffirming the RDF’s commitment to promoting peace, security, and social cohesion.
He urged the youth to learn from Rwanda’s history and uphold patriotism, noting that over 90 percent of RPA soldiers who stopped the genocide were youth.
