Today, the 13th EAC partner states Armed Forces Field Training Exercise “Ushirikiano Imara 2024” concluded in a ceremony held at Rwanda Military Academy Gako in Bugesera District.
The two-week-long Exercise brought together Armed forces, police personnel, and civilian components from Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania. During the closing ceremony, Hon Juvenal MARIZAMUNDA, Minister of Defence, underlined that the exercise improved interoperability, cooperation, and unity of command. These enhancements will assist partner states in overcoming any obstacles threatening regional security and stability.
“Through integrated exercises, we have not only enhanced operational efficiency but also strengthened bonds of trust and friendship among our national security institutions including military, police, and civilian components. This exercise has reinforced the concept that through collaboration and mutual support, we can address threats to regional security, peace, and stability,” said Hon. Marizamunda.
He further encouraged all participants to share the knowledge and experience gained during the exercise within their respective countries and beyond to foster a secure region.
Gen MK Mubarakh, RDF Chief of Defence Staff, highlighted the importance of such exercises in building strong friendships, collaboration, cohesion, trust, and confidence among partner states’ armed forces.
