Students from Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College visit Rwanda
Kigali, 01 May 2023
A delegation of students and members of faculty from Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College are on study tour in Rwanda from 29th April to 7th May 2023, under the theme “Silencing the guns in Africa through concerted collaboration of African Militaries”.
Today they visited RDF Headquarters and were received on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff, by Brig Gen Patrick Karuretwa, the Head of International Military Cooperation. At the RDF HQ, they were briefed on the RDF transformation journey since the end of the liberation struggle in 1994 as well as its role in silencing the guns in Africa.
The Head of the delegation, Col William Archibold KWABIAH highlighted the purpose of their visit which was to understand the RDF’s transformation, and Rwanda’s contribution to AU’s “Silencing the Guns in Africa” agenda.
“We had very fruitful deliberations and we believe that by the end of the tour we would have better understanding of the contribution of the RDF towards socio-economic transformation of Rwanda, that also serves as an initiative and motivation for the rest of us on the continent” he said.
Students visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial and Campaign against Genocide Museum on 30 April 2023. During the course of their visit, they will also visit Zigama CSS, Military Medical Insurance, Rwanda Military Hospital, RDF Command and Staff College and few other Government and private institutions.
