SENIOR RDF OFFICIALS ENGAGE WITH SENIOR COMMAND AND STAFF COURSE STUDENTS
As they concluded the RPA Liberation Study Tour, students from the RDF Senior Command and Staff College today engaged with senior military leaders at RDF Headquarters in Kimihurura to deepen their understanding of Rwanda’s liberation history.
The students were briefed by Gen (Rtd) James Kabarebe, Senior Defence and Security Advisor in the Office of the President, alongside the RDF Chief of Defence Staff, Gen MK Mubarakh, as well as other generals and senior officers who took part in the Rwanda Patriotic Army (RPA) liberation struggle.
The interaction followed their visit to the Campaign Against Genocide Museum, providing an opportunity to reflect further on the campaign to stop the genocide.
Gen (Rtd) Kabarebe shared insights from the RPA liberation struggle, highlighting the challenges faced and the key decisions that enabled the force to accomplish its mission. He emphasized the determination and resilience of RPA soldiers under the leadership of H.E. President Paul Kagame, Commander-in-Chief, during the struggle, in the effort to liberate Rwanda from poor leadership and halt the Genocide against the Tutsi.
The RPA study tour, which commenced at the Kagitumba border post, enhanced the students’ understanding of strategic planning and the conduct of military operations.
