RWANDAN PEACEKEEPERS PROVIDE SEWING MACHINE AND TEXTILE MATERIALS TO MALAKAL WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION

Malakal, 21 February 2025

Rwandan Female peacekeepers serving under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), today donated a sewing machine, textile materials, and other essential supplies to the Malakal Women’s Association in Upper Nile State, South Sudan.

This initiative aims to empower local women while strengthening ties between female peacekeepers and the community.

Mrs Nyalong Piew Kiir, leader of the Malakal Women’s Association, expressed deep gratitude to the Rwandan peacekeepers for their invaluable support and ongoing connection with the women of Malakal.

Mr David Kheen, Acting Director of Gender in the Ministry of Gender, also acknowledged the generous contribution, thanking the Rwandan peacekeepers for their continued assistance and collaboration with South Sudanese communities.

Rwandan peacekeepers in Malakal reaffirmed their commitment to not only restoring peace in the area but also fostering trust and empowering women through economic development initiatives.
