RWANDAN PEACEKEEPERS JOIN BRIA RESIDENTS IN A CLEAN-UP ACTIVITY AT HIDJAMA PRIMARY SCHOOL
Rwandan peacekeepers (Rwanda Battle Group and Rwanda Level Two Hospital) serving under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) joined Bria residents and members of the Central African Armed Forces (FACA) in a community work activity at Hidjama Primary School in Bria.The activity focused on cleaning up the school premises to promote a clean and healthy learning environment for pupils.
Among the leaders who participated were the Governor of the Fertit Region, Thierry Évariste Binguinendji; Lieutenant Colonel SOÏMONA Nestor, FACA Commander of the Centre – Est Zone of Defence; Col Dr Christian Mukwesi, Commander of the Rwanda Level 2 Hospital contingent; and Lieutenant Colonel David Ngabonziza, Commander of Rwanda Battle Group VIII, alongside various local leaders and residents.
Following the activity, the Governor of the Fertit Region commended the Rwandan peacekeepers and MINUSCA for initiating the school clean-up activity and supporting the local population.
Nemengalia Franck Gael, a parent whose child attends Hidjama Primary School, expressed his appreciation for the Rwandan peacekeepers' participation in the activity, describing their support as a demonstration of solidarity with the local community.
Lieutenant Colonel David Ngabonziza, Commander of Rwanda Battle Group VIII, highlighted the importance of cooperation between security forces and local communities, noting that working closely with the residents of Bria is essential, as they are the host community and partners in maintaining peace and security.
The school clean-up activity reflects the importance of collaboration between peacekeepers, local authorities, security forces, and community members in strengthening trust, promoting community well-being, and supporting peacebuilding efforts in Bria.
