Rwandan Peacekeepers in CAR provide free medical services to Bambouti residents
Bambouti, 31 January 2025
Rwandan peacekeepers serving under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) provided free medical treatment to residents of Bambouti, located approximately 1,348 km from the capital, Bangui.
The medical outreach addressed various health concerns, including sexually transmitted infections, gastrointestinal diseases, dental issues, eye conditions, and skin infections. A total of 342 individuals received care tailored to their specific needs.
SIOUKURANIE Anne Marie, Mayor of Lili District in Bambouti Sub-Prefecture, commended the Rwandan peacekeepers for their efforts in strengthening security and fostering close cooperation with the local community, which contributed to the success of the initiative.
The improved security in the region, following the deployment of Rwandan peacekeepers, has further enabled such humanitarian efforts to reach those in need.
