RWANDAN PEACEKEEPERS IN CAR CONDUCT COMMUNITY WORK IN BANGUI CITY
Bangui, 5 April 2025
Today, Rwandan Peacekeepers (RWABATT-1), under the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) joined the local community and the Rwandan community in Bangui to conduct periodic community work (UMUGANDA). The event focused on cleaning the road; Avenue David Dacko, from Lakwanga roundabout to the Commissariat of the 2nd arrondissement in Bangui City.
Mr. Sylvain DJAMANY, Director of Cabinet in the office of the Mayor of Bangui City, was present at the event.
After the clean-up, Mr. DJAMANY expressed his appreciation to Rwandan peacekeepers for their continuous support to the residents of Bangui.
He underlined the importance of cooperation and collaboration in solving community issues
RWABATT-1 contingent commander, Lt Col Alphonse KIGENZA, highlighted that the purpose of the activity which is to encourage the local population to come together and work collectively to clean their surroundings in order ensure proper hygiene and sanitation and fight against malaria.
He further encouraged the community to continue this initiative to achieve mutual goals.
