RWANDA SECURITY FORCE DONATES BICYCLES TO VILLAGE LEADERS IN CABO DELGADO
Cabo Delgado, 3 September 2025
The Rwanda Security Force (RSF) in Mozambique today donated bicycles to village leaders in MocĆmboa da Praia district, Cabo Delgado Province, as part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, support community development, and strengthen local governance.
The handover ceremony was held at MocĆmboa da Praia Municipal Pavilion and was attended by local leaders, representatives of the Mozambique security organs, RSF officers, and members of the local community.
Ms. Helena Bandeira, President of the Municipal Council of MocĆmboa da Praia, thanked the Rwanda Security Force for its continued support, emphasizing that the donated bicycles would significantly enhance local governance and improve service delivery.
āThis donation will have a direct impact on our community leaders, allowing them to reach their people more quickly and provide services more effectively. We are also deeply grateful to His Excellency Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, and to the Rwanda Security Force for responding to the needs of the people of MocĆmboa da Praia and Mozambique more broadly,ā she said.
Speaking at the event, Task Force Brigade Group 5 Commander, Col Emmanuel Nyirihirwe, underlined the importance of partnership between the Rwanda Security Force and local authorities in restoring peace and improving the daily lives of the people of MocĆmboa da Praia.
āThese bicycles will serve as an important means of transport for village leaders, enabling them to reach their communities more easily, verify information on the ground, and share it promptly. Beyond strengthening security, this support will enhance cooperation between the Rwanda Security Force, local leadership, and the population. We also believe the bicycles will benefit leaders in their personal daily activities,ā Col Nyirihirwe said.
The donation aims to address mobility challenges faced by local leaders, allowing them to better serve their communities, enhance coordination efforts, and strengthen security measures in the town and surrounding areas.
