REF:RDF/DPA/A/10/03/25
Kigali, 27 June 2025
Rwanda will host the 5th East African Community (EAC) Armed Forces Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Week activities from 29th June to 3rd July 2025. This event will bring together military personnel from EAC Partner States in a unified effort to contribute to the socio-economic development of the Rwandan community. These efforts aim to strengthen the bond between EAC Armed Forces and citizens. The event reflects the shared values of unity and integration among EAC Partner States.
This regional initiative will be integrated into the ongoing Defence and Security Citizen Outreach Programme 2025, which is being carried out nationwide in celebration of liberation (Kwibohora 31) and the 25th years of the Rwanda National Police partnership with citizens. It will include a variety of activities such as infrastructure development projects and medical services, among others.
Medical specialists, including internists, gynaecologists, paediatricians, general surgeons, orthopaedists, dentists, and other medical professionals from the EAC Armed Forces will provide free medical services at Ngoma and Nyanza District Hospitals.
Rwandans are encouraged to participate and benefit from available services as the country reaffirms its commitment to regional integration within the EAC.
