Rwanda Defence Force and Nebraska National Guard partnership launched
Kigali, 12 December 2019
Rwanda Defence Force and the Nebraska National Guard have today signed a State Partnership Programme that will strengthen the existing good cooperation between Rwanda and the United States of America and the State of Nebraska in particular.
In his remarks, the RDF Chief of Defence General Jean Bosco Kazura emphasized the importance of this partnership. “I strongly believe that we can build on these various cooperation initiatives to even go stronger through this partnership for the benefits of our people. We will exploit this milestone; share our various experiences and capabilities,” said Gen Kazura.
The Adjutant General, Nebraska National Guard, Major General Daryl L. Bohac said that working together will lead to building a better World. “Together we will be much better with this partnership and we will keep on building a better World,” said Maj Gen Bohac.

The US Ambassador to Rwanda, Peter H. Vrooman said that about 200 Rwanda students pursue different studies in Nebraska which aim at contributing to the development of Rwanda. He also commended the RDF efforts to being at the forefront of peacekeeping operations (PSO) and emphasized that the US will keep on assisting RDF in PSO pre-deployment training.
The Rwanda Defence Force partnership with the Nebraska National Guard will lay foundation for a long-term relationship by sharing expertise in emergency and disaster response, as well as strengthening cooperation in peacekeeping operations and readiness.
