Rwanda and Belgium enhance military cooperation

A delegation from the Belgian Ministry of Defence led by Maj Gen Boucké, Chief of Staff of the Strategy Department visited Rwanda Defence Force and held talks with RDF officials led by Maj Gen Ferdinand Safari.
The two parties discussed how to enhance the existing cooperation.
The current talks tackled on different aspects of cooperation including medical, engineering, training, peace support operation and logistics. Both parties expressed their satisfaction and confirmed common interest and opportunities were mutually identified.
The Minister of Defence, Maj Gen Albert Murasira had yesterday received the Belgian delegation and highlighted the importance of a good and win-win cooperation between RDF and Beligian Defence.
The meeting was in line with the two Memorandum of Understanding of April and August 2004 between the Kingdom of Belgium and Rwanda.
