RDFCSC students take on national settlement policy as a research topic of their National Study Tour
Kigali, 4 February 2020
Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College (RDFCSC) students yesterday embarked on a one-week National study tour as part of their curriculum. This year’s theme is, “An appraisal of National settlement Policy towards Achieving Sustainable Socio-Economic Development in Rwanda.”
RDFCSC is currently the highest training institution of the RDF and its mission is to develop the intellectual ability of its student officers to enable them better understand national, regional and global security challenges and how they impact on the military operating environment.

On Monday, students met the Minister of Infrastructure, Amb. Claver Gatete who explained to them the Government initiatives and policies towards an adequate Human Settlement. “We always work with the military and such research continuously supports the Government to fill gaps where they appear. It’s through the findings and recommendations that we improve existing policies and we are happy that this year they chose infrastructure as their research topic,” said Minister Gatete.
Right after meeting the Minister, students met the Mayor of Kigali, Pudence Rubingisa and toured the Integrated Model Villages of Karama in Nyarugenge district and Gikomero in Gasabo district. They will continue their study tour in different provinces of the country.

46 student officers from Rwanda and allied countries that include Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Senegal, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia are undertaking the one-year course.
