RDF & US ARMY MEDICAL PERSONNEL CONDUCT MEDICAL OUTREACH IN RWAMAGANA AND KAYONZA DISTRICTS

Rwamagana, 12 March 2024

The Rwanda Defence Force, in partnership with the United States Africa Command (USAFRICOM) and the Nebraska National Guard (NENG), has commenced a ten-day joint medical outreach in Rwamagana and Kayonza districts, set to conclude on 21 March 2024.

The medical teams will be stationed in three locations: Rwamagana Teaching Hospital, Gahini District Hospital, and Mwulire Health Centre.

Colonel Prof Alex Butera, Head of the Clinical Education and Research Division in Rwanda Military Hospital assured residents that medical professionals on the sites are committed to ensuring that everyone receives the necessary treatment. He further emphasized that, in case of challenging medical conditions, patients would be transferred to the Kanombe Military Hospital for further attention.

The services to be offered during this outreach will encompass Orthopedics, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, ENT (ear, nose, and throat), Pediatrics, Dental, and Clinical Psychology.
