Burera - Nkumba, 29 July 2025
On behalf of the Rwanda Defence Force leadership, the Defence Spokesperson, Brig Gen Ronald Rwivanga today addressed the 15th Cohort of Itorero Indangamirwa youth currently attending civic education at the National Ubutore Development Centre - Nkumba, Burera District.
He reflected on the topic entitled ‘Character Formation and Ethics’
The topic explored the principles and practices that help shape a person's character, the role of education and environment in ethical development, and why cultivating moral values is essential for both personal and institutional success.
The RDF Spokesperson reflected on patriotism, unity, integrity, humility and courage as key values that define a society and emphasised that all values are anchored on three important pillars; discipline, unity and respect for humanity.
Brig Gen Rwivanga called on the youth to emulate Rwandan Heroes whose practices and strong characters including giving their lives for the common good impacted on the history and transformation of Rwanda.
He also urged the youth to embrace humility, hard work, discipline, dignity and ownership for their country and also to take care of their health and avoid malpractices such as drug addiction and other bad behaviours that endanger their lives and kill their future.
