RDF RESERVE FORCE CHIEF OF STAFF MEETS WITH SOUTHERN PROVINCE RESERVISTS
Huye, 4 December 2025
Today, Major General Alex Kagame, the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Reserve Force Chief of Staff, met with reservists from five districts in Southern Province, including Huye, Gisagara, Nyamagabe, Nyanza, and Nyaruguru. The meeting aimed to raise awareness, address concerns, and update reservists on RDF projects focused on their development and welfare.
The meeting followed a previous gathering held in Muhanga District on November 28, 2025, as part of a countrywide effort to strengthen the collaborative engagement between the Reserve Force leadership and reservists at their respective locations, ensuring their concerns are addressed.
During his address, Major General Kagame commended the reservists for their discipline and contributions in the community.
He underscored the importance of self-reliance, encouraging reservists to seek home-grown solutions to combat poverty rather than relying solely on government support. Major General Kagame praised their role as community role models, stressing the need to continue maintaining discipline and avoid offenses that could lead to RDF intervention.
He assured the reservists of Rwanda's safety and security, reminding them of their ongoing responsibility to protect their communities even in retirement.
