RDF RESERVE FORCE CHIEF OF STAFF CONCLUDES ENGAGEMENTS WITH RESERVISTS IN WESTERN PROVINCE
Major General Alex Kagame, Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Reserve Force Chief of Staff, today concluded a series of engagements with reservists from seven districts in the Western Province: Karongi, Rutsiro, Rubavu, Nyamasheke, Ngororero, Nyabihu and Rusizi.
The meetings aimed to raise awareness, address reservists’ concerns, reinforce the importance of discipline within their communities, and provide updates on RDF initiatives and projects designed to promote their development and welfare.
The engagements were conducted through three separate gatherings held in Rubavu, Karongi and Rusizi Districts.
The initiative forms part of a nationwide effort to strengthen communication and collaboration between the Reserve Force leadership and reservists at all levels, while ensuring that their concerns are heard and addressed.
In his remarks, Major General Kagame commended the reservists for their continued discipline and contribution to community development. He emphasised the importance of self-reliance, encouraging them to take the initiative in improving their livelihoods, combating poverty and contributing to the development of their communities.

He further encouraged reservists to establish cooperatives as a means of improving their livelihoods, increasing household incomes and promoting sustainable community development.
Major General Kagame also urged reservists to serve as role models in their communities by upholding discipline, fulfilling their responsibilities and refraining from unlawful activities.
He further called on them to play an active role in maintaining peace and security within their communities, stressing their responsibility to contribute to national security and protect the communities in which they live.
