REF: RDF/DPA/A/13/08/25
Kigali, 7 November 2025
The Republic of Rwanda will host the 19th African Conference of Commandants (ACoC) from 10 to 12 November 2025, under the theme: “The Future of African Military Training and Education: Bridging the Digital Divide.”
The African Conference of Commandants is an annual forum that brings together Commandants of African Command and Staff Colleges to advance the education, training, and professional development of military officers across the continent. The conference also promotes harmonisation, interoperability, common standards, and cooperation among African Command and Staff Colleges.
Organized under the auspices of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), the conference will serve as a platform to strengthen continental collaboration in military training and strategic thinking. It will foster research and innovation in military education by focusing on bridging the Digital Divide to address emerging global and regional challenges. Participants will also explore opportunities for joint resolutions and frameworks to enhance cooperation in military education and training.
The meeting will convene Commandants and senior representatives from African Command and Staff Colleges, African Union Peace & Security Council, defence experts, strategic partners, and regional security practitioners.
Rwanda’s role as host underscores the Rwanda Defence Force’s commitment to promoting continental security cooperation and its leadership in advancing defence education in Africa.
