Musanze, 25 March 2023
Yesterday, twenty-four Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) officers graduated from the United Nations Staff Officers Course (UNSOC) organized in partnership between the Rwanda Peace Academy, the British Peace Support Team-Africa (BPST-A) and the Rwanda Defence Force.
While closing the 2 weeks training, Colonel (Rtd) Jill Rutaremara, the Director of the Rwanda Peace Academy said that the objective of the course was to prepare officers from the rank of Captain to Lieutenant Colonel for the roles of staff officers in the UN Multinational and Sector Headquarters, or within national contingents.
He noted that the knowledge, skills and competences that the officers acquired will enable them to perform various duties in an effective and professional manner and orient them to the UN approach to peace operations.
