The top three performing teams in all four sports were awarded medals in recognition of their excellence, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
Presiding over the closing ceremony, the Minister of Defence, Hon. Juvenal Marizamunda, highlighted that sports have long been a foundational aspect of RDF culture, dating back to 1992 during the liberation struggle. He noted that these competitions promote both physical and mental fitness, encourage teamwork, boost morale, and strengthen the spirit of unity, competition, and camaraderie among soldiers. He further stated that the Liberation Cup has evolved into a highly anticipated annual event, growing in popularity and participation each year. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the tournament and taking it to greater heights.
The RDF Chief of Defence Staff, General MK Mubarakh commended the participating teams for their dedication and discipline. He underscored that the tournament embodies not only physical liberation but also mental and practical resilience. It serves as a reminder of enduring values such as bravery, unity, patriotism, and the spirit of liberation.
