RDF DEPUTY DEFENCE SPOKESPERSON JOINS STUDENTS AND STAFF FROM THE MOUNT KIGALI UNIVERSITY ECO-SYSTEM IN COMMEMORATING THE VICTIMS OF THE GENOCIDE AGAINST THE TUTSI.
Today, Lt Col Simon KABERA, the Deputy Spokesperson of the Rwanda Defence Force joined more than 1,500 students and staff from the Mount Kigali University Eco-System, including Mount Kigali University, Kigali Paramount Hotel, Loyal FM, and University Medical Centre, in commemorating the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Addressing participants, Lt Col Kabera explained the stages through which the genocide was planned and executed. He highlighted the critical role played by the Rwanda Patriotic Army (RPA) in stopping the genocide and rescuing innocent lives at a time when the international community failed to intervene.He emphasized that the RPA liberated the country, laid the foundation for unity, security, and national recovery.

Lt Col Kabera urged all Rwandans, especially the youth, to fight against genocide ideology and denial spread on social media.
He called on young people to take the lead in defending the truth, protecting national unity, and ensuring that Rwanda’s history is never distorted.
