RDF Chief of Defence Staff receives Congolese Armed Forces delegation

A delegation of six Senior Officials from the Congolese Armed Forces on November 27, paid a courtesy call on the Rwanda Defence Force Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Patrick Nyamvumba.
The delegation led by Maj Gen Guy Blanchard Okoi, the new Chief of General Staff of the Congolese Armed Forces (CAF) is in Rwanda for a one week study tour. They had bilateral discussions about how to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries; both sides committed to build a strong partnership that will enable them accomplish their mission.
“We have discussed bilateral matters between our armed forces [...] These matters should; when they are settled, allow us to be able to better fulfill our missions and above all, to exercise between us a fraternity which is regular and normal,” said Maj Gen Okoi.
Before visiting the RDF HQs in Kimihurura, Gen Okoi with his delegation had visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial where they laid a wreath on the mass graves that host over 250,000 remains of the Genocide against the Tutsi victims; and then after toured the museum.
The Congolese delegation will visit the Rubavu District and the Rwanda Military Academy in Gako. The visit that started on November 26 will conclude on 30 November 2018.
