RDF AND RNP DONATE LIVESTOCK TO RESIDENTS IN KIREHE AND KAYONZA DISTRICTS
The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) and Rwanda National Police (RNP) donated cows and goats to residents of Kirehe and Kayonza districts on 22 June 2026 as part of the Defence and Security Citizen Outreach Programme (DSCOP 2026). The distribution exercise will run throughout the week across several sectors, including Nasho in Kirehe and Ndego, Mwili, Kabare, and Rwinkwavu in Kayonza.
A total of 910 goats and six cows will be distributed to community members in these areas. In Nasho Sector, 100 goats and two cows were given to vulnerable residents, particularly those affected by prolonged drought.

Officiating the event in Nasho, Kirehe District Vice Mayor for Economic Development Nzirabatinya Modeste commended the initiative. He noted that beyond ensuring security, the RDF and RNP continue to improve citizens’ welfare and support socio-economic development.
He highlighted that the donation shows the security organs’ commitment to addressing community challenges. He added that the Army and Police have also provided medical services, water supply in areas with poor infrastructure, and other community-focused initiatives that support national development programmes.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support. Ndayisenga J. Bosco said the cow he received would transform his family’s life by providing milk and manure to improve agricultural production. Nyirakamanzi Marceline said the gesture reflects the strong relationship between residents and security forces and thanked H.E President Paul Kagame for his concern for citizens’ well-being.
Over the past three months, DSCOP 2026 activities have included medical services, infrastructure projects, environmental protection, and livestock donations. The programme will conclude as part of Liberation Day celebrations on 4 July.
