Prime Minister Nsengiyumva attended the 21st African Union Extraordinary Session of Heads of State and Government

On behalf of President Paul Kagame, on 30th August 2026, Prime Minister Nsengiyumva joined other Heads of State and Government for the 21st African Union Extraordinary Session of Heads of State and Government held in Luanda, Angola under the theme “Strengthening Mechanisms for Conflict Prevention and Resolution in Africa”.

In his remarks, Prime Minister noted: “Africa cannot continue to rely primarily on external partners to finance the resolution of its own conflicts, nor externalize its mediation to actors outside the continent. We must build the confidence, capacity and resources to lead our own peace processes, from early prevention through the most delicate phases of mediation.”
