MINUSCA SECTOR NORTH-EAST COMMANDER VISITS RWANDAN PEACEKEEPERS IN BRIA
The Sector North-East Commander of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), Brigadier General Joseph Douglas Mokwena, visited Rwanda Battle Group VIII (RWABG VIII) peacekeepers at their camp in Bria.
The Sector Commander was welcomed by the Contingent Commander, Lieutenant Colonel David Ngabonziza, who briefed him on RWABG VIII’s operations and the security situation in its area of responsibility.
Brigadier General Mokwena commended the Rwanda Battle Group for its work since deployment, noting that the visit was intended to meet troops under his command, gain a better understanding of their operations and challenges, and strengthen cooperation in addressing them.
He emphasized that the protection of civilians remains MINUSCA’s primary objective and encouraged the peacekeepers to sustain and further improve their performance. He also urged them to maintain high standards of professionalism, discipline and dedication in the execution of their duties.
