MINUSCA Force Commander commends readiness of Rwandan peacekeepers in Central African Republic

The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in Central African Republic (MINUSCA), Force Commander Lt Gen SADIKI Traoré has today visited Rwandan peacekeepers at their headquarters at M’Poko Base camp in Bangui City, Central African Republic.
The aim of the visit was to assess Rwanbatt8 readiness in accomplishing their tasks in Central African Republic.
Lt Gen SADIKI was welcomed by the Contingent Commander Col Augustin MIGABO, and briefed on Rwanbatt8 operations. The MINUSCA FC witnessed demonstration exercise of crowd dispersal on how Rwanbatt8 Quick Reaction Force (QRF) may intervene in case of any civil disturbance.
He applauded the Rwandan peacekeepers for their commitment in restoration of peace and security in Central African Republic. He also urged the peacekeepers to maintain their professionalism and remain resolute in the enforcement of the MINUSCA mandate.
Rwanbatt8 arrived in mission area on 17 April 2021 with a mission to create and maintain secure environment in Bangui Capital City, ensure protection of civilians and provide security to the President of CAR and the First family, facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance and protection of UN Personnel.
