MALAWI DEFENCE FORCE COMMAND AND STAFF COLLEGE UNDERTAKING A STUDY TOUR IN RWANDA
The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen MK Mubarakh, received a delegation from the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) Command and Staff College at RDF Headquarters in Kimihurura during their study tour to Rwanda. Headed by the Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor Col Joseph Mambo, the delegation received a briefing on the RDF's transformation journey followed by an interactive session led by the Director General of International Military Cooperation.
The tour focuses on enhancing professional knowledge through Rwanda’s experiences in defence transformation, peacebuilding, national development, and leveraging cyber capabilities and smart technologies for national resilience.
Gen Mubarakh thanked the MDF for selecting Rwanda, emphasizing that the visit reflects the strong bilateral and military relations between both nations. "I trust that your engagement in Rwanda will provide valuable insights to contribute to your professional development," he stated.

Col Mambo noted that Rwanda was chosen for its leadership in security, resilience, and development: "You cannot miss Rwanda because Rwanda is the light of all African countries."

During their visit, the delegation toured RDF welfare institutions including Zigama CSS, Military Medical Insurance (MMI), and the Armed Forces Shop, to explore military support services.
They also visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial and the Campaign Against Genocide Museum to learn about the history of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, its stopping, and the importance of memory preservation and genocide prevention.
The tour highlights ongoing efforts to deepen military-to-military cooperation and knowledge exchange between Rwanda and Malawi.
