END-OF-YEAR MESSAGE FROM H.E. THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC AND COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OF THE RWANDA DEFENCE FORCE
Kigali, 29 December 2025
Officers, Men, and Women of the Rwanda Defence Force and other Security Organs, as we close another year, I take this moment to express my deepest appreciation in your service. Your dedication and professionalism continue to uphold the values and security of our Nation.
Through adversity and challenge, the men and women of the Rwanda Defence Force and other Security Organs have consistently served with unwavering distinction — both here at home and on missions far beyond our borders.
Within our nation, your steadfast vigilance safeguards our people, secures our territorial integrity, and upholds our sovereignty every single day.
Abroad, across the continent’s peacekeeping theaters, you continue to honor our sacred vow to protect human life with every resource, every skill, and unwavering resolve.
Through your shared determination, Rwanda continues to enjoy peace and stability. Our nation has achieved remarkable progress across various sectors, and the people of Rwanda appreciate your contributions, which have enabled them to carry out their socio-economic activities in a stable and secure environment.
As I have mentioned before, the Rwanda Defence Force and other Security Organs are today the forces I have always wished to have. Throughout this year, you have continued to grow into a pillar of national unity, dignity, and strength, capable of protecting the country’s interests while upholding the highest standards of integrity and patriotism.
As we move into a new year, I urge you to maintain this momentum and continue to uphold the principles of integrity and accountability that define our forces. Let us remain vigilant and adaptive to evolving threats as we continue to work towards the shared vision of a secure, prosperous, and united Rwanda.
I extend my sincere appreciation to all those currently serving away from their families and unable to reunite with them during this festive season. We deeply recognize your sacrifices and those of your families. Your courage, resilience, and unwavering dedication make us all proud as Rwandans. To the mourning families who have lost loved ones in service, I honor your sacrifice and assure you that we will always stand by your side.
On behalf of the Rwandan people, the government, and my own family, I extend my warmest wishes to you and your families for a joyful festive season and a successful year ahead.
May you continue to serve with honor and may your sacrifices always be recognized and rewarded.
I thank you for your service.
