EASF CONVENES AIR OPERATIONS DOCUMENTS VALIDATION WORKSHOP IN KIGALI

The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) has convened a five-day workshop in Kigali from 15th to 19th to validate the Combined Air Operations Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, and Memorandum of Understanding for Humanitarian Assistance and Natural Disaster Support. The workshop was officially opened  by Brigadier General Louis Kanobayire, Commandant of the Rwanda Air Force School, on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff of the Rwanda Defence Force.

The event brought together technical experts from EASF Member States, namely Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, and Ethiopia to review and harmonize key operational documents aimed at enhancing regional air capabilities and strengthening cooperation in humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations.

Brigadier General Louis Kanobayire emphasized that the workshop demonstrates collective commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and enhancing preparedness to respond to humanitarian emergences and natural disasters  

The East African Standby Force  is a regional component of the African standby force, a key pillar of African peace and security in the region, enehensing collective defence capabilities.  It is mandated to plan, coordinate, and undertake peace support operations within the Eastern African region.
