EAC Defence liaison Officers on a sensitisation tour
The five East African Community (EAC) Defense Liaison Officers (DLOs) representing their respective Partner States at the EAC Secretariat will visit Rwanda from 27 – 30 July 2008. The main purpose of their visit is to sensitize various Government officials on the status of Defence cooperation in the EAC.
The team will meet with senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of East African Community, Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF), National Security Service (NSS) and Rwanda National Police (RNP).
They will also visit Rwanda Military Academy (Gako) and Electronic and Information Communications Technical Integrated (E-ICT) Centre in Kigali.
The DLOs are Brig Gen Fred Tolit (Uganda), Brig Gen Norbert Kalimba (Rwanda), Brigadier Salvator Nahamana (Burundi), Col Hilary Kioko (Kenya) and Col DT Matiku (Tanzania).
