EAC ARMED FORCES HAND OVER REHABILITATED BOREHOLES TO BUGESERA RESIDENTS

The East Africa Community partner states currently conducting the 13th EAC Armed Forces Field Training Exercise, 'Ushirikiano Imara 2024 in Rwanda today officially handed over refurbished water boreholes in Rweru and Musenyi sectors of Bugesera District.
The exercise run from 6th June and ended today. The partner states (Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania) engaged in projects aimed at supplying clean water to the Bugesera District's population through the refurbishment of the Rweru and Musenyi water boreholes. This effort reflects regional cooperation and a commitment to community well-being.
During the inauguration ceremony, Col Deng Mayom Manyang, speaking on behalf of the East Africa Community Secretary General, reaffirmed the armed forces' commitment to ensuring the well-being of the people alongside their physical protection.
The Exercise Director Maj Gen Andrew KAGAME, representing the RDF Chief of Defence Staff, emphasized that rehabilitating the water boreholes signifies dedication to enhancing citizens' quality of life and fostering cooperation between military personnel and the population.
The Mayor of Bugesera District, Richard Mutabazi, commended the effort to supply clean water to the residents and encouraged everyone to take good care of these facilities.
