DEFENCE SPOKESPERSON DELIVERS LECTURE TO FACULTY STAFF AND STUDENTS FROM UNIVERSITY OF ZAMBIA
Kigali, 20 November 2025
Defence Spokesperson, Brig Gen Ronald Rwivanga, today delivered a lecture to a group of 20 students and faculty members from the University of Zambia, who are in Rwanda for a study tour from 16 to 23 November 2025. The session took place at the University of Rwanda Headquarters in Kigali.
The delegation was led by Prof Boniface Namangala, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic affairs) at the University of Zambia. The University of Rwanda was represented by Dr Ndikumana Raymond, Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Strategic Planning and Administration. Also in attendance was Mr Sengiyumva Vincent, First Secretary at the Rwanda High Commission in Lusaka.
During the session, Brig Gen Rwivanga delivered a lecture titled “African Solutions to African Problems: A Case of Rwanda’s Bilateral Interventions in the Central African Republic and Mozambique.” His presentation explored Rwanda’s practical contributions to stabilisation efforts in both countries, underscoring the effectiveness of African-led security initiatives grounded in solidarity, professionalism, and timely action.
He highlighted how Rwanda’s bilateral deployments have helped restore security, protect civilians, support socio-economic development, and demonstrate that African nations can take ownership in addressing continental challenges. The lecture further emphasised the importance of partnerships, mutual respect, and operational discipline.
This study tour strengthens the academic partnerships between the University of Rwanda and the University of Zambia and showcases Rwanda’s commitment to supporting Africa’s broader peace and security architecture through knowledge exchange and practical engagements.
