CHIEF OF THE GENERAL STAFF OF CZECH REPUBLIC ARMED FORCES VISITS RDF HEADQUARTERS
Kigali, 6 April 2024
Today, the Chief of the General Staff of Czech Republic Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Karel Ćehka along with his delegation visited Rwanda Defence Force headquarters and was welcomed by the RDF Chief of Defence Staff, General MK Mubarakh. He also paid a courtesy call to the Hon Minister of Defence, Mr. Juvenal MARIZAMUNDA.
"While speaking to the Media, Gen Ćehka highlighted the purpose of his visit as part of a delegation led by H.E, the President of the Czech Republic. He stated that the visit is primarily meant to pay respects to the victims of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, an event soon to be commemorated on its 30th anniversary.
He also underscored that he had the opportunity to engage in discussions on bilateral defence cooperation with the RDF CDS as part of the ongoing cooperation between their respective armed forces. Furthermore, he noted that they addressed various topics of mutual interest and explored new areas of future collaboration between the defense forces of both countries.
