CHIEF OF CIVIL–MILITARY COOPERATION ADDRESSES STUDENTS OF RWANDA POLYTECHNIC–TUMBA COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY
The Chief of Civil–Military Cooperation (J9) of the Rwanda Defence Force, Col Désiré Migambi Mungamba, delivered a lecture to students of Rwanda Polytechnic–Tumba College of Technology, urging them to use their technological skills to contribute to national development and nation-building.
The engagement was organised as part of activities marking National Heroes’ Day, commemorated nationwide on 1 February 2026. Under the theme “Heroism and National Unity: Pillars of Development,” the lecture aimed to instill heroism-related values such as patriotism, unity, and responsibility among the youth.
In his presentation, Col Migambi emphasised the importance of Rwandan values such as unity, peace, sovereignty, and prosperity, noting that these principles have historically shaped the country’s resilience. Referring to the heroism of the Rwandan Patriotic Army during the liberation struggle, he encouraged students to emulate their commitment and dedication to the nation.
He further urged students to use their technological skills to promote national development and counter genocide ideology, particularly on social media. He also warned students against actions that undermine national security and called upon the youth to remain loyal, responsible, and proactive in safeguarding Rwanda’s image and stability.
Speaking at the event, Eng. Rita Clemence Mutabazi, Principal of RP-Tumba College of Technology, reminded students that heroism is deeply rooted in Rwandan culture and encouraged them to draw inspiration from past heroes in their daily lives and future careers.
