CDS RECEIVES STUDENTS AND FACULTY MEMBERS FROM INDIA’S NATIONAL DEFENCE COLLEGE
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), General MK Mubarakh, today received a delegation of students and faculty members from India’s National Defence College at RDF Headquarters. The visit forms part of the delegation’s week-long study tour of Rwanda, which commenced on 1 June 2026.

During the meeting, the CDS expressed his appreciation to the National Defence College of India and commended the strong partnership between Rwanda and India.“Your presence here reflects the strong and growing partnership between Rwanda and India, a relationship founded on mutual respect, friendship, and a shared commitment to peace, security, and development,” he said.
He noted that the longstanding relationship between the two countries has greatly benefited the RDF, particularly through training and educational opportunities for RDF officers at India’s distinguished military institutions.
General Mubarakh further emphasized that the RDF looks forward to exploring additional avenues for cooperation between the two institutions, especially as Rwanda prepares to operationalize its National Defence University.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Brigadier Rajneesh Mohan, Secretary of the National Defence College of India, expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded to the delegation during its visit. He highlighted that the study tour had provided valuable insights into the RDF’s professionalization efforts and contributions to regional and international security, as well as Rwanda’s institutional development and national transformation journey.
The delegation is scheduled to conclude its study tour on 6 June 2026.
