The Army is composed of combat formations and combat support arms. Each combat formation is organised hierarchically as follows: 

1. Division or equivalent;
2. Brigade;
3. Battalion;
4. Company;
5. Platoon;
6. Section.

The combat support arms are:  

1. Artillery Division; and
2. Mechanised Division. 
    

The Army has the following responsibilities: 

1. to have combat-ready and multi-skilled forces to play a leading role in prompt and sustained offensive and defensive land operations;
2. to cooperate with other security organs in restoring public order and assisting in the enforcement of laws;
3. to intervene in humanitarian activities in case of disasters in the country or abroad in accordance with relevant laws;
4. to contribute to the development of the country;
5. to participate in international peacekeeping, bilateral missions and trainings.
