Zigama Credit & Savings Society is incorporated in Rwanda under Law No 31/1988 of the 12th October 1988 on the Organization of Co-operative Societies and Licensed by the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) Instructions No 06/2002 governing Micro-finance Institutions.

VISION

To be a leading financial services organization in the market committed to enhancing the quality of the members’ lives through economic empowerment.

HISTORY

Founded in August 1997, and officially inaugurated in March 1999, membership was then limited to the Rwanda Defence Force, members of the National Police and civilians working with the two institutions. Today, Zigama CSS is open to the entire Rwandan public.

RETAIL BANKING

Retail banking provides services for individuals, designed to meet the specific financial needs of the client.

CURRENT ACCOUNT

There is no minimum deposit required to open a current account at CSS. The current account can be accessed using a pass book, internal cheque, account transfers and ATM.

DEPOSIT ACCOUNT

The Zigama CSS offers a wide choice of savings accounts with competitive interest rates, and banking services. The more you save the higher the interest. Interest rates range from 4.75% to 7% depending on the type of savings account opened. Details on the type of accounts – follow the link.

 Interest charges: 16%
 Conditions: good savings deposit & established regular income
 Use: consumption/ trade

Short Term Loan

 Repayment Terms: up to 18 months
 Interest charges: 15%
 Conditions: good savings deposit & established regular income
 Use: investment/ consumption

Medium Term Loan

 Repayment Terms: up to 60 months
 Interest charges: 13.5%
 Conditions: good savings & credit history, established regular income
 Use: investment in construction, income generating activities

CSS NTUMA

CSS NTUMA is a technology in money transfer that allows clients to send or receive money instantaneously from wherever they may be. It is established to re-adjust the bank’s services to meet clients’ demands. Since inception, it has helped members to receive money through CSS wide network. It does not require having an account in CSS in order to use CSS NTUMA services.

INTERNATIONAL MONEY TRANSFER

Ever expanding and improving its services to meet money transfer needs. Zigama CSS will soon launch its International Money Transfer service in partnership with Afripayments LLC and Moneytrans. For details see: http://www.moneytrans.be

ATM FACILITY

Automated Teller Machines allow clients to withdraw money at any time of the day and any day of the week. In order to facilitate access and convenience, Zigama CSS has ATM installed at its Head Offices and others will soon be deployed at all branch headquarters.
